Big Ear Observatory: A Legacy of Unexplored Radio Astronomy Data

The Ohio State University Radio Observatory (Big Ear) operated as the world's first dedicated SETI observatory from 1973 to 1998. Over three decades, it surveyed ~70% of the sky, creating an extensive archive of radio astronomy data, including over 40,000 transient narrowband events and unusual radio burst concentrations near the Galactic Center. Most of this unique dataset remains unexplored, offering potential for future discoveries.
